Did You Know?: Music & the Automotive Industry

Sales and Leasing Consultant, Tim Hoyt, has gone way back into the musical archives to put together this month's edition of "Did You Know?"

The Beach Boys

Over the past 60 years there have been numerous songs that include vehicle makes and models in the lyrics. Some of these popular ballads even feature the automotive make or model in the title. Below are a few examples of how the music industry has embraced our automotive heritage:

  • Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody
  • 409 by The Beach Boys
  • Pink Cadillac by Bruce Springsteen
  • Crocodile Rock by Elton John
  • American Pie by Don McLean
  • Night Moves by Bob Seger
  • Take It Easy by The Eagles
  • Mercury Blues by Alan Jackson
  • Little Deuce Coupe by The Beach Boys
  • Lord Mr. Ford by Jerry Reed
  • Fun Fun Fun by The Beach Boys
  • Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett
  • Dead Man's Curve by Jan and Dean
  • Vehicle by Ides of March
  • Roll on Down the Highway by B.T.O.

Stay tuned for next month's edition!
