Thank You For The Support!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Dove, Inc. fundraiser a success! Dealership guests enjoyed a BBQ lunch and live music from Bellflower duo, Me-N-Him. Volunteers from the dealership and Dove, Inc. spent the afternoon preparing sandwiches, visiting with guests, and spreading the word about the benefits of the Dove organization. It was a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend!

Owner, Scott Baum, presents a donation check to Dove, Inc. staff members

Because of your generosity, we were able to donate over $2,100 to Dove! We truly appreciate the services that Dove provides to our community and the numerous volunteers who make it possible.

DOVE, Inc. Fundraiser

On Friday, May 23, the dealership will host a cook out to help raise funds for Dove, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides support to local victims of domestic violence. The organization also serves as a food pantry, a source for emergency funds, and a volunteer network for retired and senior citizens in DeWitt county. To keep its programs running efficiently, Dove, Inc. needs to raise $120,000 this year.

In order to help the organization get closer to its fund raising goal, the dealership staff will provide lunch to the public from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. There is no cost for the lunch, but we do ask those who attend to consider making a donation to help support Dove, Inc. We will also be raffling off two autographed copies of Howard Buffet's new book, “40 Chances” to raise additional funds. Bellflower musical duo, ME-N-HIM, will be performing live throughout the afternoon.

We encourage everyone to stop by the dealership and enjoy a great meal for a great cause. The event will be held rain or shine! For more information please contact the dealership at 217-935-3156. To learn more about Dove, Inc. and the services it provides, please visit http://www.doveinc.org/.

Did You Know?: Television Stars

Sales and Leasing Consultant, Tim H., has stepped out of the automotive mindset and into the television set. This month's edition of "Did You Know?" takes a look at some of the TV stars who were fortunate to play roles in multiple TV shows over the years.

In the past 65 years, it's rare that a TV star would have more than one hit show. There have also been instances where a few popular movie stars have flopped on the small screen. The following is a list of celebrities that beat the odds and starred in two or more popular TV shows:

  • Lee Majors: Six Million Dollar Man and The Fall Guy
  • Michael Landon: Bonanza, Little House On The Prairie and Highway to Heaven
  • Andy Griffith: Andy Griffith Show and Matlock
  • Jack Klugman: The Odd Couple and Quincy
  • Dick Van Dyke: The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder
  • James Garner: Maverick and Rockford Files
  • Raymond Burr: Perry Mason and Ironside
  • Carroll O'Conner: All In The Family and In The Heat Of The Night
  • Robert Young: Father Knows Best and Marcus Welby, M.D.
  • Pernell Roberts: Bonanza and Trapper John, M.D.
  • Larry Hagman: I Dream Of Jeanne and Dallas
  • Patrick Duffy: Dallas and Step By Step
  • Gerald McRaney: Simon & Simon and Major Dad
  • Susan Saint James: McMillan & Wife and Kate & Allie
  • Tom Selleck: Magnum, P.I. and Blue Bloods
  • Lucille Ball: I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy (ran from 1951-1974)
  • Buddy Ebsen: The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones
  • Robert Stack: The Untouchables and Unsolved Mysteries
  • Martin Milner: Route 66 and Adam 12
  • Efrem Zimbalist Jr.: 77 Sunset Strip and The F.B.I.
